Lowell, aka the Golffather, is one of the original founders of the Strand Invitational, alongside Fred, with their shared vision and love for golf shaping the foundation of what the trip has become today. Fred and Lowell’s bond traces back to their college days, where countless three-hole matches and impromptu chipping lessons solidified their friendship and fueled their passion for the game. A decade later, the two decided to channel their shared enthusiasm into something bigger—creating the Strand Invitational, an annual tradition that continues to thrive. While Lowell’s life now finds him living across the country and unable to attend as often, his legacy remains an integral part of the trip. From the spirit of camaraderie he helped instill to the traditions he and Fred established, Lowell’s influence is felt in every swing, laugh, and memorable moment. His enduring contributions to the Invitational ensure he’ll always be considered a cornerstone of the group, no matter the distance.
